(Edgerton, WI) - Edgerton’s Business Park has earned the Ady-Austin consulting group’s shovel-ready designation. Edgerton joins Beloit and Janesville as Wisconsin’s only, third party certified shovel-ready industrial / distribution sites. As an indicator of barrier-free and speed-to-market processes, the shovel-ready designation is increasingly becoming the litmus test for participating in today’s global business development and investment arena. This shovel-ready project was a collaborative effort between Rock County 5.0, the City of Edgerton and the Edgerton Economic Development Corporation.
“I can attest to the rigors of this shovel-ready process, the application that it offers and the value-added benefits provided by this designation”, said Ramona Flanigan, Edgerton City Administrator. “The accuracy and the compilation of this data will assist with positioning the City’s overall economic development efforts”, said Flanigan.
Frank Spano, Director of Austin Consulting added, “The shovel-ready designation process resembles the exact same methodology that businesses deploy when conducting their site selection processes. Congratulations to the City for earning this shovel-ready site designation.”
According to James Otterstein, Rock County Economic Development Manager, “These independent, third party Business/Industrial Park designations drive home the County’s value proposition and reinforce those themes articulated within the Rock County Ready campaign. Rock County is ready for growth and these shovel-ready sites assist with delivering speed-to-market responsiveness.”
