(Clinton, WI) – The DeLong Company, a major supplier of food grains to both the domestic and international markets, announced it intends to purchase nearly 60-acres of industrial property from the Village of Clinton. This acreage will facilitate the company’s immediate, as well as future, growth needs. These needs, while interrelated, have been separated into distinct development phases. Phase I will address storage capacity issues and Phase II involves the development of a cleaning / processing facility. The property closing date is set for mid-May, with Phase I construction expected to commence shortly thereafter.

Headquartered in Clinton, WI the DeLong Company is a sixth-generation, family owned business. With annual sales exceeding $900 Million and 15 locations throughout the Midwest, the DeLong Co. operates five divisions: agronomy, grain, seed, wholesale distribution and transportation. In addition to their food-grade grains, the company also provides and distributes feed and pet products to dealers in WI, IL and IN. Throughout the company’s history, it has earned numerous industry and/or organizational accolades – including their 2011 Stateline World Trade Association Award, which recognized DeLong Co.’s exceptional export activities.

"This is an outstanding project for the residents of the Village of Clinton and the surrounding area. The Village is excited about the opportunity to extend its long-term relationship with the DeLong Company, which undoubtedly will continually yield mutual benefits for future generations”, Mary Jensen – Clinton Village Board President.

According to James Otterstein, Rock County Economic Development Manager, "Close proximity to grain producers, as well as congestion-free connectivity to major rail and port facilities, are just a few of the ingredients that contribute to the DeLong Co.’s successful business model. The evolution of a family owned business into a recognized exporter is an impressive testament to the company’s leadership and employees.”
