(Janesville, WI) – SSI Technologies, Inc. announced an expansion project at its Janesville headquarters location. The company will expand its corporate operations, by making a sizable capital equipment / technology investment and adding 40 new positions. Following the completion of this project, SSI will have approximately 200,000 SF in Janesville and employ nearly 400 individuals. 

 

SSI Technologies is a privately held company that operates two distinct, yet related product divisions. The SSI Controls Division designs and manufactures pressure, level and magnetic sensors, sensor-based monitoring systems, digital pressure and level gauges. Meanwhile, the company’s Sintered Specialties Division is the world's largest stainless steel powder metal (PM) components manufacturer – specializing in high-temperature sintering of stainless steel, soft magnetic alloy, tool steel, sinter-hardening alloy, and custom powder metal parts.  SSI’s products are commonly found in automotive, industrial, medical and ordinance applications worldwide.

 

The company has sales offices in Marburg, Germany and Tokyo, Japan. SSI’s Sintered Specialties Division is registered to the TS16949 international quality standard.

 

The Wisconsin Department of Commerce facilitated this project by offering nearly $220,000 in Development Opportunity Zone (DOZ) Tax Credits. The Janesville DOZ was activated in YR 2009 and awarded a $5 Million tax credit pool to assist with qualified economic development projects. Projects that qualify for DOZ assistance may be eligible to claim credits that are calculated on capital investment, as well as employment commitments.
