(Janesville) Rock County broke ground on for its 128-bed Rock Haven nursing home facility, which is located on the County Farm South Property. This $30MM + campus will be constructed on approximately 25+/- acres. The design of Rock Haven will resemble modest single-family homes and when complete, will represent 178,000 SF +/-.  The campus is expected to be operational late Q1 2013.

The heart of the campus will consist of four neighborhood style, single story structures. Each structure will represent approximately 28,500 SF and be divided into two households. The household will consist of 16 residents and provide the following common area amenities: dining room, living room and support spaces. Each resident will have a private room and a full bathroom.

These four neighborhoods will have enclosed connections that lead directly to the Village Commons building, which will anchor two enclosed courtyards. These couryards will provide pedestrian orientated connections for Rock Haven's patients, staff and visitors. This 58,600 SF +/-, two-story Village Commons building will serve two purposes.  The lower level will house Rock Haven's mechanicals, its repair shop and also serve as a bulk storage area.  Meanwhile,  Rock Haven's admission/administration offices, its resident and outpatient physical/occupational therapy gyms as well as a full-service commercial kitchen will be located in the Commons' upper level.  Additional multi-purpose space will be available on this upper level too.

A pair of single-story 2,900 SF +/- buildings, connected in between two neighborhood buildings, will support Rock Haven's staff.  These buildings will possess a break room, conference room and private offices for staff supervisors along with dedicated file storage.
