(Janesville, WI) – Mercy Health System announced the development of a new emergency department and clinic, located at its Deerfield Drive property. This project represents the first phase of a three-phased planned development. Phase I will be a 20,000 SF facility, which will be known as Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center Emergency North and Mercy Health System Clinic North, respectively. The investment attributed to Phase I is pegged at $6MM +/-.  

 

Over the last half-dozen years, Mercy has undertaken several construction / renovation projects throughout its two-state service territory. Select highlights from a few of these projects are provided below. 

 

  • Mercy Clinic East is undergoing a 50,000 SF expansion to accommodate its sports medicine, physical/occupational rehabilitation and regional eye center’s needs. This total project cost is anticipated to reach $10MM +/-.
  • Mercy Janesville Hospital and Trauma Center is adding another 10,000 SF. Prior to embarking on this expansion, Mercy had completed an extensive clinical space and parking deck project. Combined, these projects represent approximately $20MM +/- in new capital investment. 
  • Mercy Edgerton Clinic is doubling its footprint from 4,000 SF to 8,000 SF. 
  • Mercy Walworth Hospital and Medical Center is completing a $45MM expansion project, which will add another 140,000 SF to its footprint. 

Based in Janesville, Mercy Health System has grown from a stand-along hospital into a vertically integrated health provider operating 64 facilities throughout a 24 community, two-state service territory. Annually, Mercy provides service to over 1,000,000 patients and employs 3,856 partners, 285 of whom are employed physicians. Mercy has become the largest employer in Rock County and is actively engaged in various community, civic, non-profit and philanthropic organizations and their activities, respectively.

Members of MercyCare Insurance Company can choose from more than 440 physicians and other providers in Rock, Green, Jefferson and Walworth counties in Wisconsin and McHenry County, IL.
