(Milton, WI) - Penn Color, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of color and additive concentrates that primarily serves the plastics industry, announced their intention to build in Milton's Crossroads Business Park

The project, which involves two-phases, will begin with the construction of a 50,000 SF manufacturing facility on a 13.6 +/- acre site that Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Co. will eventually serve. Penn Color anticipates creating 12-15 jobs, with additional personnel and facility expansion factored into the company's growth plans.  Initial operations are scheduled to begin 3rd Quarter 2010.

"Our business in the Midwest continues to grow and this facility will not only help us service our existing clients, but also offer the opportunity to expand our position throughout this region of the United States," said Tom Cramer, Midwest Business Manager for Penn Color. Bob Kaminski, Penn Color's Industry Manager added that, "After several months of diligently searching for a Chicagoland site, we felt that Rock County and the City of Milton offered everything required to support our company's growth strategies. Our business was warmly welcomed and we look forward to supporting the community and expanding our Midwest markets."

According to James Otterstein, Rock County Economic Development Manager, "This project reinforces the critical role that supply chain considerations have on business location and investment decisions.  In addition, this announcement reinforces the value attributed to transportation assets and shovel-ready sites during the site selection process."

Established in 1964 by Edward N. Putman, the father of President / CEO Kevin Putman, Penn Color produces colorants for printing inks, industrial coatings and cosmetics. The Milton facility will be Penn Color’s eight manufacturing site, joining their PA, NJ, VA, GA, Holland and India locations, respectively. With its corporate headquarters in Doylestown, PA Penn Color has over 500 employees worldwide.
