The Southwest Workforce Development Board (SW WDB) was recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development for exceeding all of its program year performance standards.  Since 2003, SW WDB is the only Wisconsin WDB to earn this prestigious recognition twice.  As a non-profit, SW WDB has an annual budget of approximately $4.5 +/- Million dollars and its operations are governed by a public-private Board of Directors.

The SW WDB is one of Wisconsin's eleven regional boards established by the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and it is responsible for administering WIA related services in the following counties: Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland and Rock. Although the WDB's are engaged in various workforce development activities, one of their more visible responsibilities is attributed to the administration and management of the regional Job Centers. These one-stop centers provide a range of services for employers and employees alike.
