Recreation in Rock County
Rock County has a range of outdoor related activities to meet the needs of residents and visitors alike. Whether you’re into biking, hiking, horseback riding or simply enjoy taking a walk along the Ice Age Trail there are miles of trails that wind throughout the County.
If you’re into the links, then you’ll definitely enjoy the dozen plus golf courses that challenge players of all abilities, from beginner to professional. For those players seeking a family orientated links environment, there are two miniature golf courses to choose from, as well. Play for the day or a week; either way, you’ll enjoy every stroke.
On the aquatics side, there are various waterways that stretch throughout the County representing creeks, lakes, ponds and rivers. The more notable areas include the Rock River and Lake Koshkonong. If you’re into swimming, there are five municipal options plus several athletic club pools located within Rock County.
For those with angler interests, Rock County offers four-season fishing opportunities that canvass both rural and urban environments.
As the seasons change, so do the activities: paddles and boats are replaced by ice skates, snowmobiles and cross-country skiing equipment. From the diamonds to the ice rinks, there are recreational opportunities year round.
