An online survey could be crucial to the future of Rock County’s broadband Internet infrastructure.

Assistant to the County Administrator Randy Terronez says the database the state uses is based on information provided by Internet providers, which can sometimes not have totally accurate information, so it’s crucial residents provide correct info so the state sees there truly are areas which need improvement.

Terronez says they’re trying to make residents aware roughly $1.5 billion is available, and through this survey, the county can get moved higher up the list to receive federal grant money, which would in turn mean the county has to borrow less.
